Marian and Peter

J-8 !

Hi everyone, Naomi here.
Just a quick one to let you all know how things are getting on in Australia! I'm sitting my exams this week (early) in order to drive to Toowoomba Wednesday night, and leave Thursday afternoon after packing up and heading to Melbourne, with the hope of meeting joseph at the airport in 7 days! 7 days! It's madness!
I have no idea how far it is to Melbourne, my guess is about 2500kms? We will be spending Dad's birthday in Canberra with some old friends of the family, and arrive in Melbourne the day before Joseph (Sunday). As far as I know, plans and preparations are proceeding well (coordinated mainly by my parents in Toowoomba), but my major concerns are getting my exams out of the way in the next 3 days! And then I have to think about what clothes and things I'm going to need for the next 6 weeks on the road! It's starting to get exciting...It'll be quite strange to have my French family here in Australia but how fun to show them all my favourite places and introduce them to this country I love!
Bisous a vous tous!
Naomi

C'est parti!
Everything is (almost) ready here in Aus. We're having some pizza for lunch with my grandparents (who will be joining the tour from Port Augusta) and my sister-in-law Lorilee, before finalising the packing and making our way to Moree or Narrabri this evening. It's about 450km away, and nearby recorded -10 degrees last night! Brrrr! The longest leg of the trip will be Friday - un trajet de 700km. Saturday we will celebrate Dad's birthday with some of our old friends in Canberra and then 650km the next day to Melbourne. It's getting very cold here, so I shudder to think what the weather will be like further south! If nothing else, this is a crazy project because of the freezing weather!
But I'm very much looking forward to meeting Joseph and getting under (vive un climat un peu plus agreable dans le desert!) And so I bid everyone au revoir for the next few days, and to Joseph I say "A lundi!"

[Peter's thoughts - Icebergs. whales. penguins. short days = Melbourne. Looking forward to it! Il rigole, mais qu'est-ce qu'il va faire froid! To find the weather in Melbourne go to www.bom.gov.au]
